Where Are You Powerful?
Where Are You Powerful?
For the past year, I have been taking a number of training courses to improve my skills, so I can be a better business owner. I truly love the work I do with my clients, and it is important to me that I am at my best, so I can serve them really well.
As a lifelong learner, I have been willing to learn in all areas of my life – emotional, mental, physical and spiritual. I think one of the true beauties of being an entrepreneur is that it calls us forward in every area of our life.
There are times when I have questioned if it was really worth the price to learn. You know, stopping and not just learning but then also taking the time and energy to implement. I am a busy lady, is this really necessary?
Have you felt that in your business?
Typically we have areas that are our specialty. The place where we shine with little to no effort. The place people admire us for, and we think, “But it is so easy?! Surely everyone knows or can do this.”
Then there are the areas where it feels like we need to be hit over the head with a 2 x 4 in order to not just get it, but to become a master at it. Let’s face it, it is so much easier to just do the easy stuff.
For me this area has been marketing.
For my clients this area is money.
Here is what I have learned on this journey of mastering marketing (and believe me I have a ways to go), once we surrender and come with a learners mind the process becomes much more joyful.
Why was I willing to surrender and learn?
It was because my love of what I do and who I serve was greater than my fear of learning to market well. I was willing to try, to know I was not going to be perfect out the gate and do it anyway.
Connecting with money and numbers is a place many people feel they want to be better at. Like marketing, financial management is a skill that must be learned. It truly does not matter where you are starting from. The bottom line is just to start.
I gave myself permission to start with a beginners mind, will you?
