Reasons or Results
One of the best lessons I ever learned was from a mentor I was working with in the 90’s, Nancy Dean. She said, “you either have reasons or you have results.”
It took me a while to wrap my head around this. I’ll spare you the details and sum it up:
Are you a Victim or are you Response-able?
You see when we take ownership of our life, truly, we are always coming from a place of responsible. When this word is broken down it is Response Able. Life happens, people do things you wish they wouldn’t but when it comes to your life and your business are you response able in these situations or a victim?
If you find yourself blaming others or blaming situations then you are in victim mode. In other words, those people or those situations are controlling the results you are getting in your business and in your life.
If you find yourself always in the questions of:
What worked?
What didn’t?
What’s next?
Then you are coming from a place of response able, taking ownership of the results.
We don’t always get our results every time. All that means is we go again. We ask those three questions, and we keep moving no matter what until we get our results.
Living in a space of response-able is so much more powerful. This is where you are at choice. And choice is where freedom lives.
So what are you going to choose?
Time to get really honest with yourself. Make a choice and then don’t look back!
