The Money Conversation
Money is one of the least taught subjects and the least talked about subjects.
The reason for this is most of us have so much emotion around money that it just isn’t comfortable to talk about it.
I know you have heard me say this before, AND repetition is one of the things that we all need for a new concept to truly take hold…
Money is a tool.
A tool to be used to create the life we each have in our hearts to create.
It’s the currency that each of us uses to create our lifestyle. For me, the word lifestyle means doing the kind of work that makes your heart sing in a way that keeps you joyful and makes an impact in the world. The clothes we wear, the car we drive, the schools we send our kids to, all play a part in this happening for us. There is no right or wrong in how this looks. If you desire it then it’s yours to create.
So how do you get in the conversation?
Step one is to be willing. I know it sounds simple and I challenge you to think about the last money conversation you had. Was it a creative one? Was it one where both parties were empowered?
If you aren’t in circles where you get to have creative money conversations, and you know this is an area of your life that you are ready to tackle, then I encourage you to search for them.
Last week I was at an investment seminar, learning more about the current investment strategies for the wealthy. There are more ways to make money in our world than any of us have time for AND for me it’s exciting to listen to options.
If you are asking yourself how money conversations can be exciting, I encourage you to start having them. You don’t have to get your checkbook out or show anyone your bank balance to have a conversation. I am sure you will find that the more you are willing to enter into conversations the easier and more exciting they will become.
Then look at your numbers and ask what’s working, what’s not, and what’s next. If you have any questions we are here to help!
Let’s get the tool of money working for you so that you can have exciting money conversations!
PS Every fall we offer The CFO Players Club Retreat, a safe and creative place for money conversations with fellow entrepreneurs who are building wealth. You can learn more about it here.
