Fun in the city!
Ken and I had so much fun in Seattle. I have always loved a road trip, I find it is such a wonderful way to unwind. There is nothing that has to be done except drive and look. My mind easily wanders as we pass by different sites. The relaxation comes from my mind not having to do any work. And, true to form this is when my best ideas are born.
Often as entrepreneurs we have this belief that we have to be really busy and work really hard in order to be the best at what we do. When we hear things like work smarter not harder. We work really hard to try and figure out what that looks like. It is a vicious cycle.
What I have discovered over time is that when I work continuously, when I work tirelessly for a long time, what happens is I get burned out and often resentful that I have to work so hard to make things work. Honestly, this is what causes most entrepreneurs t give up on their dream.
I get it that it can be really scary to stop working so hard when you don’t yet have the cash flow from your business that makes you feel safe and secure. I know what it is like to be driven by having a lot of debt and overhead that is counting on you, and you are wondering how it will all come together.
….. AND
The only way you will get out this cycle is to stop.
Taking care of yourself first is where you will find the answers, the clients, and the money to truly build the business you want to build and live the life that you want to live. I know you are saying to yourself, “how can that be possible?” and the answer is with structure.
Having a solid frame work from which to build your business in is what will allow you to achieve success, while at the same time take care of yourself.
