Are You Charging Enough?

Are you charging enough?

How do you know the answer to this question?

I see so many business owners who answer this with, “In my industry we can charge $ X / hour for our services”.   This is a model of business that is very out of date for most service based providers.

I find so many business owners who are frustrated with a business that they truly love because the business is not making enough money to provide them with the lifestyle they not only desire but they deserve.

At the most extreme of this you may actually be running a charity, not a business.

The biggest point of breakdown in achieving this is understanding how you are pricing your services and why.  Then once you understand that, you want to understand your associated costs and how to manage them, so you are in the driver’s seat of creating not only the business you desire but the life you dream about.

I think the saddest situations I hear are the ones where people are ready to walk away from a business that is truly part of their hearts calling in life because they are disconnected from the value they are providing.

Ask yourself these 3 questions:

Who is my ideal client?

What is the biggest problem they face that I can help them solve?

What is the value they will receive as a result of working with me?

This is a great place to begin when becoming aware of the value you provide your client rather than what will the market bear for my hourly rate.

I hope this was helpful for you!
