Am I Wealthy?
The short answer is of course you are! Wealth comes in many forms for all of us and the definition of what it means to be wealthy is unique to each of us as well.
Today I would like to talk a little bit about the benchmarks of financial wealth. These are the places each of us can work towards building in our life for financial security today, wealth for tomorrow and a legacy for our families or those on our hearts to serve for generations to come.
Now the first objection running through your mind is I don’t make enough, have enough, or generate enough to read any further, financial wealth is not for me today. I hear this from people at every level of income – 5 figures, 6 figures and 7 figures. If you are willing to have a different conversation stay with me!
I used to operate in silos financially. First this and then that. First pay off all my debt and then build my reserves. First build my reserves and then begin investing. The problem with this model is in a lifetime it will be very difficult to truly make it happen.
The answer lies in yes AND. Yes I have a debt reduction plan and I am building my reserves while investing. It is possible and I am living proof. It is not an overnight magic pill and there are many layers to making it happen, not the least of which is your thinking.
I encourage you to take a step back from your day to day financial life and look at where you can begin to do all 3 at once. As an entrepreneur your business is one of your biggest investments. It is actually one of the soundest strategies I know of for wealth creation as long as it is seen in the light of an investment. This is a concept that is foreign to a lot of my clients when they come to work with us
A book that I read many years ago by Nelson Nash “Becoming Your Own Banker” is another investment that I feel is a good one, especially for entrepreneurs. The book may be cumbersome to read, don’t get lost in the numbers just understand the concept.
If you instituted these two things this year you will be amazed at where you will be at this time next year.
If even getting into the conversation is a challenge then join us in September when we will once again share our Get Right With Your Money Course. To have a sense of peace with money you will want to connect with it in ways that create ease for you. It is not a one size fits all process.
The value is in the yes AND!
